Resources for the Electronic Classroom: A Faculty-Student Partnership

The goals of the RECAP conference are the same, but some of the format is new. RECAP offers faculty the opportunity to improve and enhance the classroom learning environment through integrating technology into their curriculum. This will be accomplished through demonstrations and hands-on workshops using a variety of new technologies.

In addition to the regular concurrent sessions we will be trying something a little different, a BarCamp. Before lunch we will attempt to organize a BarCamp of sorts. A BarCamp is an open, participatory workshop-like event, whose content is provided by participants. While loosely structured, there are rules at BarCamp. All attendees are encouraged to present or participate in a session. Everyone is also asked to share information and experiences of the event, both live and after the fact, via public web channels including (but not limited to) blogging, photo sharing (please bring a camera), social bookmarking, twittering (hash tag #RECAP2009), and wiki-ing. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BarCamp]

As a way to encourage participation we will also be using BackNoise for the backchannel conversation. http://backnoise.com/recap2009

Users of this site are free to edit the contents as they see fit!

So if you have any ideas for a BarCamp session, or comments for the concurrent sessions listed to the left please feel free to contribute to this wiki.

Please take a minute to add a profile picture so we know what you look like!
